CSR

India is the first country in the world to make corporate social responsibility (CSR) mandatory. Companies with either of the following parameters are required to spend 2 percent of their average net profits of three years on CSR:

  • net worth of INR 500 crore or more
  • annual turnover of INR 1000 crore or more
  • net profit of INR 5 crore or more

Why partner with Jodo India

Many companies find it difficult to spend the 2% amount that is mandatory. Our government is applying pressure on companies that have not spent the minimum CSR amount, so companies are keen to spend this amount. Jodo India can help these and other organizations spend their CSR contributions with the confidence that a major portion of the funds are actually spent on Program Activities which directly impact beneficiaries. Jodo India is arguably the only NGO that arranges to distribute Reusable Sanitary Pads to Needy Schoolgirls in Rural India. We have also started planning for our second mission: planting seed balls in rural areas. Jodo has identified 2 vendor’s of seed balls. Happily, our partner NGOs are very keen to prepare seed balls – which is quite a simple procedure.

The Chief Functionary of Jodo India has personally setup the CSR function at a leading ODC in Pune and has hands-on experience of identifying deserving NGOs and reviewing their performance.

Till end of 2019, we have achieved our First and Second Phase objectives:

  • Locating quality vendors for reusable sanitary pads and kit content
  • Appointing Partner NGOs in several districts of India
  • Appointing Volunteers to help implement our plans
  • Distributing kits to 2500+ beneficiaries and inspiring them to plant & nurture 350+ trees as part of their creative contribution

Other Crucial Factors

  • Our project is of High impact and low admin cost
  • Engagement in Rural India in backward districts
  • Online validation of project performance supported by photos and videos of activities
